Sarah Plotkin collaborates with community members, professional artists, and young people to build original theater that celebrates stories of community and connection across differences. She regularly collaborates with playwrights and puppeteers to develop new work, and is committed to the role of collaborative art-making in building equitable, just, and liberated spaces. She works as a freelance director and teaching artist in Boston with ArtsEmerson, Wheelock Family Theatre, and Arlington Children's Theatre, among others. She is also the former Artistic Director of Electric Eye Ensemble, a collaborative theater company exploring American myths and stories through a revisionist, feminist lens. Sarah has an MA in Theater Education and Applied Theatre from Emerson College, and a BA in Directing and Literature from Sarah Lawrence College.
