School Residencies
Since 2014 I've worked as a teaching artist in K-12 schools, camps and community settings. I have experience working with English language learners, special education and inclusion classes. My workshop topics include: theater, devising, storytelling, puppetry, movement, mask making and yoga.
My residencies are typically 10-30 sessions, and conclude with a final showing or performance for the students' parents. In each residency I work with the classroom teachers to connect our art-making to what the students are learning in the classroom, as well as Common Core Standards and Social and Emotional Learning goals. For this reason every residency is different and unique to the students' needs, and helps inspire them to be excited about what they are learning in school.
I am now offering virtual workshops and residencies, which you can learn more about here.

In this puppetry residency I work with students in grades 1-5 to make hand puppets out of clay and fabric over a period of 10 weeks. We then perform an original puppet show for the students' parents. Themes for the puppet shows have included "Then and Now," "Fairy Tales," and "Self Portraits," and are based on what the students are studying at the time.
