The R/J Project
Virtual Performance via Zoom
Produced by Arlington Children's Theatre
Boston, MA
March 2021
Adapted from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet by the Ensemble
Directed by Sarah Plotkin
"So this feud, what is it about?" asks officers as they investigate the deaths of five people in the Montague/Capulet murder case. Inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, this original play is told through live interviews with the play's side characters, while pre-recorded flashback scenes in the Shakespearean language illuminate the true course of events. This unique production, created by young people who are a similar age to the characters in the show, explores how violence creates more violence, and asks what's needed to stop that cycle.
The R/J Project was rehearsed and recorded during the pandemic following the CDC's guidelines for social distancing, air ventilation and mask wearing.
