How does climate change affect our daily lives and communities? How can we use art to raise awareness on the climate crisis, and spark dialogue on climate justice?

Join me for a Youth Artist Project with Urbano exploring climate justice, theater, performance, storytelling, and activism. Climate Justice (CJ) looks at the climate crisis through the lens of equality and human rights as a social justice issue. It means finding solutions to the climate crisis that create a more equitable, just, and sustainable world. Through interview theater and other performance-based practices, we will amplify stories of climate justice and learn how climate change is directly affecting our communities. Using interviews, improvisation, movement, and writing prompts, Youth Artists will create artwork that celebrates recent progress in climate justice and sparks dialogue and action about the ongoing issues of the climate crisis.

Session Dates: July 21 – August 18, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00-6:00PM
Egleston Square Public Library in Boston

Youth Artists are paid and all art materials will be provided! No previous theater or art experience is required. Youth ages 14-23 living in and around Boston are welcome to apply. Youth Artists must commit to attending all sessions.
